    may as well be a 12" circular saw with a 1000' cord

    1. The trouble with your plan is that the saw you speak of would be rotating in a direction that that would move its operator backwards, not forwards.

      And then there's the little detail of using a 1000' extension cord, which would require using a generator to power that circular saw in the middle of a frozen pond. Not very practical.

      Please attempt to engage your brain before trying to dazzle us plebes with your brilliance in the future.
