  2. While I am not a fisherperson, I do not understand why so many people in these photos have their fishing pole resting on their shoulder.

    1. I am only an occasional fisherman, but if I understand things, the shoulder is a convenient place to balance/hold the rod&reel while you use both hands to remove the hook from the fish.

    2. I don't have any idea why these people rest their rod on their shoulder in these pictures. Probably the same reason all of these cowgirls are wearing their hats backward-it so cool!
      I do know that I have fished nearly every weekend for better than half of the year for going on 60 years and I have never, nor have I ever seen anyone fishing with me do that.
