And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The National Geographic Channel just had an excellent 6-part series: Top Guns: The Next Generation. You can probably find out when/where it will be viewable if you missed it. Here's the trailer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4KdFr5-21E
I second what Ohio Guy said about that series. I was very impressed with the quality of the video. I wish they had included a "behind the scenes" episode that showed the filming process.
Goshawks are cute little fellars, watched couple v-clips of them doing carrier practice, very much looks like gads of fun, they cycle pretty quickly, great seeing how the deck crews work, it really is a kind of ballet. Got it down to a real science.
Point Of Order: The Navy operates 156 surviving T-45s, out of an original training fleet of 189, after 33 crashes (about 1/yr) since initial adoption in 1991.
While all Marine aviators originate out of the Navy aviation training pipeline, the Marines organizationally, per best references, operate exactly zero T-45s, since ever. So Why in Blistering F*** would anyone paint "Marines" on one? Or did some ding-a-ling just do a crappy Photoshop?
An A-4
ReplyDeleteT-45. The A-4 sits much higher and does not have a two place cockpit.
ReplyDeleteTA-4J is a Skyhawk trainer, and it does have tandem seating. However, this is not a TA-4J.
DeleteWinner.
DeleteMcDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun machine to fly. What did you think of it?
