  4. I just picked up an old avocado green Kitchen Aid mixer for cheap. Any other color would have been 2-3x the price

  6. Mom's house has standard white appliances but the countertops are that same 'guacamole' green color.

  7. Dad had appliance stores (remember those?) in the 60's and 70's. We sold a lot of those green machines. And the brown mustard color (I forget the color names that were brand-specific), and even some of the yellow and red ones. I sort of miss the old TV sets, and combo stereo/TV cabinets. Carried a lot of them into houses in addition to wheeling in refrigerators, washers, etc..

  9. mid 70s, guy at work has 2 guys who shoplift to order, foreman lines up two appliances. comes back 40 minutes later with "called my wife can we get them in avcado"...
