And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I don't like these roofs. I have one and leaves get stuck under and voila A leak. I'm always afraid I'm gonna break some...(which I have) when walking on the roof. Didn't have that problem in North Am. But I get not having asphalt shingles when it's 40+ almost half the year.
In my country, which has earthquakes, iron roofs in various profiles (including tiles) are the most common choice - tough, light and huge bracing value when screwed on with Tek screws. Tile roofs have too much weight up top to be sensible unless you've gone up-market. Flash kitset garden sheds with wooden walls and roof structure may come with bitumen tiles but even then I'd screw iron over them to be sure.

DeleteThat roof has seen better days.
ReplyDeleteReal tile roofs require 2X6 rather than 2X4 framing, due to weight.
ReplyDeletethey use use fiberglass "tiles" now, for all the reasons mentioned.
