Poseidon. Bronze sculpture, 480 BC. Found in the sea in Boeotia, Greece. It rests on low rectangular plinth on which is engraved the inscription: “Sacred to Poseidon”.

  2. Aquiline features lot of these ancient statues have, provides visual evidence a possible branch of the human race we do not see in present times, where did they all go? Find it hard to believe in some sort of mass die-off, and were they even from Earth or returned to their origins having accomplished something vital at least for themselves?

  3. There is little doubt imo that modern humans evolved from H. erectus lineages in central / eastern Asia. Repeated waves of pre & post-bronze age tribes from central Asia swept into what is now the ME & Greece. That period lasted at least from the stone age until Western Civ evolved when the records begin and emerged from the storytelling mythos.

    Good harvests = population explosions and tribal migration to find unexploited resources as it always has been.
