And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Kind of a good thing, one of the older technologies of the industrial revolution, not just still works but has features nothing since can match or better. Like this old is new again stuff, keeps things in perspective in a way.
Actually, LP's are back, even among the young. My Gen-x son and his best friend are vinyl fans. They are Heavy Metal fans among other stuff and there are a lot of new LP's out there. Not cheap. Also Reel-to-reel tape if you're rich. I take a couple of high-end magazines just to try to keep up with technology and there are many ads for new manufacture R-R players and recorders.
I remember the "disc washer" system - still have one. Coolest part is tinkering with the anti-skid, the weight, making sure the stylus is clean etc. I have CD, digital, and the turntable - all high quality and the LPs have a richness (analog) that the others cannot touch. Yes my 65 year old LP that was my Dad's has the snap and crackle. The new ones are awesome. The 65 year old one has notices that "this is a stereophonic recording that must be played on the proper equipment to enjoy its full effect" ...
IDK man, plenty of new LPs being pressed and the record players to listen to them. I don't see folks talking the same way about CDs when they buy physical music media.
