And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Impressive Statistic. What the heck happened to NASA??
... and like the vast majority of the rest, a feedback system so that contractors who bill outrageous sums for mediocre performance can send money to the lawmakers who vote them their money.
NASA has outlived its usefulness. In the early stages of any new technology or discovery, only a government has the funding to pursue it. Hence Queen Isabella of Spain funded Columbus; and the United States funded NASA. Now that space flight is commercially viable NASA should stop launching satellites and limit itself to pure research projects
Don't you understand what NASA is been since the STS? It is a money laundering iperation, they get away with such vast amounts of filthy lucre cause everything space is subjective, no one else can put a price on using space, so untill SpaceX came along they held complete dominance in that realm of organize crime racketeering. The tap's been greatly reduced. What we see is window dressing, to keep the masses distracted. Maybe they send out probes and stuff, but a tiny satellite does not cost 4 billion dollars, the Hubble was a drop in the pot cost wise. They build in obsolecense into everything so when its time for more filthy lucre that shitcan something, start the racket up new. Note how they have become a cfirst conttactor now, watch how much they launder thru Blue Origin and Beso's operations, never mind the legacy aerospace corps, now they have two space forces, and nobody is permitted to know their racket dollar amounts. SpaceX, sure they are a great advent operation, it looks really spectacular what they are doing, and it is, but part of that is its what NASA was supposed to be doing sll along, but that cut into the take, and they all started getting so greedy its past that definition into theft even the great Stoics would have difficulty describing, maybe Socrate's best student who ended up running as wolves are across the mountains, that kind of filthy lucre. They been stealing the wealth of A Nation since the last Apollo returned to earth.
Affirmative Action has consequences. NASA went all in on that, the sign on the gate said white males need not apply. So much for merit. The only way a white guy could be hired was to have either a Phd or a wheelchair. For decades. Now we can see the results of that.
