  3. only from the vantage point of time is it suicidal, not foolish; then again I used to love to climb

    1. Bet those coaster brakes could bring that truck to a screeching halt

    3. Coaster Brakes? Perhaps you have never owned an old-fashioned paperboy bike. The skinny tired light weight racing bikes are no durable.

  5. It's all fun until the truck swerves or runs over an old exhaust pipe.

  6. Two men rode bicycles from AK to Tierra del Fuego. They came to our highschool to tell about it. The tale I remember is in Chile or perhaps Peru, they left a truckstop behind a truck.

Drafting behind the truck the guys thought it good luck they picked a fast driver. But the truck only continued picking up speed. Around 80 mph, they thought they should let the truck go. They reconsidered as they thought if they drop back, the buffeting would surely be their ruin. They topped out at 135 mph.

The guys were sore but mentally shaken. They took a couple days break from the road.

  7. If you get crushed and die under the next truck behind this one it means the bike was not sufficiently designed to the test.

  8. If a wheel bearing decides to disintegrate they will have about 2 seconds to decide how they will eat pavement.
