Used to fabricate header systems for those and other high performance engines, lot of it is welded sections of bend tangents, not enough straight lengths to grab in the mandrel benders, so you use U and J bends, cut where needed to fit, too much rotation and bends too close to fabricate them than piece by piece, keeping careful track of equal lengths, all within an 1/8 of an inch at the collectors, a critical feature of obtaining max performance from a pipe system. Lot of power to be had in a properly made exhaust, power that never wears out. Advent of the wheel driven dyno's became an indispensable tool, an unsung game changer.

  4. a bit of a search turned up that the funny looking car with 4 front wheels steering was something called a Tyrrell P34
