And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Went to a small place in Seattle where we'd do that, and the owner had an old Pepsi cooler of beer. Take one and sit a spell. Just remember to bring a 6er every now and then to replenish.
Whoa! What memories! As a kid my dad would take us for a haircut on Saturdays. We would have to sit and wait for what seemed like hours. Then the barber would plop down that "riser" and I would crawl up on to it. And the conversations!!! Wow, if you were of the progressive liberal side; you would get your comeuppance and a lesson on government and history.
As a kid, I remember the footrest that flipped up and down with the cast in name "Koken." They were made in my hometown of St. Louis and one of my Dad's buds worked there. 50s suburban shop, 4 chairs and a shoeshine guy. Always had hunting magazines, cigar smoke and the Cardinals game on the radio. Cool place for a 10 year old. Biggskye in Missouri

And there were Playboy magazines right out in the open in the magazine rack, which as a kid, I'd eyeball from a distance but never dare to pick up.
