I was at the Yuma Proving Grounds when they had an anniversary open house, it was neat. I saw the cameras that take these photos, like I said, it was neat.
How do they get the thing to stay in frame? I didn't think you could accelerate a high speed camera to two or three thousand FPS, so I'm assuming there's some other way.
You're thinking of old-school film cameras. They're mainly digital now, and the frame rates have gone up 1000-fold. Current-state-of-the-art is 1,750,000fps, and the camera makers make tracking equipment to keep the object in frame as well.
