And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
After dragging the Honda out at 2 a.m. for a power outage, probably our fourth here, I bought a whole house Generac and had it hooked up to natural gas. It did the job, we haven't lost power since.
I have a 17kw Generac that has been down for 5 years, although I haven't totally given up on it. I bought a new 14kW Kohler at that time. Both are propane and both have 1000+ hours on them. The Generac engine has pushrods while the Kohler has hydraulic lifters. That's proven to be an advantage for the Kohler. YMMV.
Living in the woods in Eastern Pennsylvania, it was a must to have one of these. This one will most likely work to light most of the lights in your home, run the microwave, and the furnace but maybe not the water heater or stove. You have to have a separate breaker box for the auxiliary electric service.
I live in california where gas and propane are ridiculous. I went solar and just bought 2 more panels. Prices on batteries have dropped a lot. Last year my bill for July was $350 this year it was $46. I just wish there was a cheap alternative to electric heat. Can't burn wood here.
I have one of those! Sucker works... but you can buy direct for a lot cheaper than the 'zon!
