And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Well.... my experience with pole chainsaws is that for larger branches, you've got to undercut the limb before you cut it from the top, if you want to avoid getting the saw stuck. Because when they get stuck, it's a bear to get them loose again. So: how do you do that, if the saw has a guard on top preventing you from doing any undercuts?
You're right, and obviously the guard must come off. Also, the guard will restrict the diameter of the branch you can cut.
Having said that, these things get heavy when the motor is out on the end, like my Ryobi is. A friend has one where the motor is in the handle and connects to the blade with a rotating cable like a string trimmer does and it's much lighter.
