And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Mad Max. Looks like they used a ramp on the far side of the caravan to get the car above the frame. I read somewhere on the web that the entire movie was financed by the writer and director and all their friends maxing their credit cards. Al_in_Ottawa
Sometimes the best flicks are ones cost the least. Mad Max was that, a true icon. Remember couple decades later, before the sequel come out, getting into a heated row with a couple ladies who absolutely refused to believe Mel Gibson starred in them. Funny.
When Mad Max was originally released in the US, they dubbed the actors - even Mel Gibson - thinking no one would be able to understand Australian accents.
Maybe it's my lack of perception but that trailer looks like it is nothing more than an empty "shell" as the car is crashing through it.

ReplyDeleteThe original Mad Max was made on such a tight budget, the director donated his own old trailer to be demolished in this scene.
