  1. Overpriced and unnecessary. Right up till the moment you need it...to remove that annoying splinter.

  2. I'm ok with chinglish, because their English is far better than my Chinese, but what is "Jimping"? Gripping?

    1. Jimping is the process of cutting small notches or filings into a knife blade or handle to improve grip and control. You made me curious enough to look it up.

    2. Quite a little knowledge knugget- I got it immediately and filed it under obscure factoids- my asperger's demands it.

  5. Those look like they'd be perfect for getting those tiny little splinters you get when you handle dry Doug Fir firewood without gloves, buy I'd like to take them for a test drive before I bought one.
They do look like they're a quality tool though, don't they?

    1. Had a woman behind me at a hardware store lay her merchandise on the counter as I was checking out. She said those gloves are mine, your wouldn't want them they are women's gloves. I replied I thought all gloves were women's gloves

  6. I keep a set of Uncle Bill's Silver Grippers on my keyring and use them frequently. They worked well out of the box and better after I touched them to the grinder. As mentioned above, for slivers and even worse, slivers from chipping fir bark. Inexpensive and always at hand.

    1. worked construction/film industry, we had two workmates nearly lose fingers from luan ply splinters, these tweezers seem a good item. another good idea is having a magnet to remove steel chips from the eye surface.

  8. I'll join the throng: to get splinters I only have to walk into a room containing plywood.
