Every car a different color. Wild!
A lineup of beauties
Once you go black...
Pure Purple and yours truly's orange beast.
People in the little burg of Weaverville were pointing and thumbs up-ing us as we convoyed through town.
Nice lunch on the patio at the Straw House, then back. A Stellar's Jay had made a nest under the awning there and entertained everyone feeding its chicks right in front of us. Fun, winding mountain roads the whole way there and back. There was actually new snow on the mountains near Weaverville, and the river was running strongly with cold, green water. Just gorgeous.
There's a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteHave any of them made mods on their rides?
Lots. However, mine is stock. Just too perfect from the factory to mess with.
DeleteIn the '90s I owned a '79 BMW 582i which was upgraded with a 3.5 liter six, 20mm swaybars front and back, KONI springs, Bilstein shocks and sticky rubber which gave me @15k miles on a set of tires. At @ 90 mph the whole thing would just squat down on its haunches and scoot.
ReplyDeleteI once had a weekend gig as a judge and announcer at a high school music contest, and Sunday morning I drove home to Sausalito via 299 from Redding to the coast, and then CA One south to the bay. Seven am on a perfect Spring morning, all the windows and the sunroof open, and absolutely no other traffic.
At one point about midway to the coast there's a long valley with no other access to 299; all flat, all straight and you can see the whole thing when you drop into it Westbound.
That's where I discovered my BMW would do 130 mph. Never forget that run.
Very cool
ReplyDeleteThose of us who woke to another dull, overcast English spring day aren't jealous at all . . .
ReplyDeleteThe black hood and scoop says it all. Very retro 70's. And the hood pins, yowza....
ReplyDeleteCool cars, but when did they change the name of the color from Plum Crazy to Pure Purple?
ReplyDeleteWell, they didn't change the official name, I did when I typed that.
DeleteNow, THAT'S a dining room with a view!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to Google Earth to get a bird's eye view of the Straw House and the river.
Looks like 2 "shakers" in the group. All "Real Cars", and I'm not even a Dodge/Plymouth guy, though I do like and appreciate them. Tree Mike
ReplyDeleteA beautiful reason to reside in California. Lovely!
