And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had eight. I was raised in a Ford family. One of my uncles said, "If Ford Motor Company don't make it, I don't need it." When we got married, my wife had a '68 Cutlass. I never looked back until the General stopped making them. We had our '95 for eighteen years because we couldn't get another one. Sometimes we wondered why we kept doing it but they just fit. More than a Chevy but less plush than a Buick. An edge of performance tradition for me. I wish I'd had one of those 49's or 50's.

ReplyDeleteCome away with me, Lucille
In my merry Oldsmobile
Down the road of life we fly
Automo-bub-bub-bubbling, you and I
To the church we'll swiftly steal
Then our wedding bells are gonna peal
You can go as far as you like with me
In my merry Oldsmobile.

DeleteThat's a beautiful show room. Modern looking, not over powering. Not like today. Just way too much hype.
