And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

They were trained vaudevillians who started work as kids, but they didn't quite grasp how Hollywood and the film industry was a very different business. Their screen producer kept their widely-enjoyed success in theaters a secret from them and they continued working for quite low wages, never knowing their true worth as stars in new-found Hollywood. The studio made a fortune off them.
Curly died pretty young after a series of strokes and I've always wondered how much of that was due to the many blows to the head he suffered.
As a kid we used to have to sneak in the Stooges when we could. My mother detested them. I still find some of their wit pretty funny and fresh.
