  1. My dad bought a '59 Chevy sedan. I was never impressed with the fin styling.

  5. My first car, at 17 was a 59 Chevy Bel Air 4-door hardtop with the wraparound rear window. I paid $75 for it in 1966 or 1967 (2 wks pay to me). It was not junk either. What will 2 wks pay buy you for a car these days?

  6. Our family had a 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood station wagon. It was pea green. I've had a soft spot for the 59 Chevy ever since.

  7. A buddies dad had a 59 Impala with a 348 and a four barrel. At least I think it was. Been a while. They're all dead. It would run like hell.

  9. I owned a green 59 Impala SS 4 door with the 283 (smallest V8 in those days) and a 2 speed power glide transmission. You could do 60 mph in first gear. What a tank!
