Navy's top admiral steps in, drops charges against second SEAL charged in war crimes case

The CIC has stepped in and set the tone.

“Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson today dismissed all charges in the case of Lt. Jacob Portier,”who was set to face trial in September on charges stemming from the high-profile murder case of Special Operator 1st Class Edward R. Gallagher. a Navy statement said Thursday. “Richardson took this action in the best interest of justice and the Navy.”
Cmdr. Jereal Dorsey, a Navy spokesman, said the decision came from Richardson, not from President Donald Trump, who this week rescinded medals awarded to prosecutors in the Gallagher case.
Sure, but a direct order is not needed under the circumstances.
Richardson also ordered a full review of the Navy’s Judge Advocate General Corps.
About time.

  2. he smelled the stench of political correctness emanating from USN JAG and I do hope he spades the manure he finds into a deep hole and dumps the obamite critters there on top of it before he dumps a load of soil on top of it. USN seems of late to be cleaning out the non-leaders promoted under the obamites but not fast enough...

  3. As a squid with 16 months left till I transfer to DD 214, USS Backyard, I can tell you that the ole canoe club, internally, is making changes for the better. I haven’t seen some of what’s going on since the 90’s when they were commonplace. It’s refreshing and it gives me hope that the big grey hate makers are coming about flank in the right direction.
