And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember Jeep was having a sale in the early 80's, $6000 is the price I recall. I did go into the dealer in San Rafael & looked, all I remember was the back seat was extra...
I paid $3,500 for my 1976 CJ-5. What a fun vehicle that was - until my sister crashed it into the side of a mountain while I was stationed in Germany. It was never right after that, so I got rid of it. There was no place I couldn't take it, either. With the 304 V8, it was a beast.
If memory serves I paid $5200 for a 78 Levi CJ7 back in 78.

ReplyDeleteLoved my Scrambler. Had to get rid of it when I was assigned a remote tour to Alaska in '86
