Success!
At least for now, the leader of the Republican Party has been convinced to stop pushing amnesty for millions of criminal Democratic voters.
There is simply nothing as depressing as a party leadership so blind and stupid that they want to change the political subject from perhaps the worst executed big government program ever enacted, to something that will instead reward lawbreakers for their criminal actions, add millions to the voter rolls who will nearly all vote against what you believe in, and who will pressure the already distressed middle class from below.
Is it any wonder that a grass roots movement called the Tea Party has exploded on the scene?
At least this time these true idiots have seen the cliff coming, and pulled back from the brink. Who knows, however, what their next maneuver will be.
"Chances for a broad immigration bill to pass this year took a major hit Thursday when House Speaker John A. Boehner ruled out any action until President Obama proves to Republicans’ satisfaction that he is serious about enforcing the laws and no longer will try to work around Congress.
Just a week after Mr. Boehner appeared to jump-start chances for immigration by releasing House Republican principles for a bill, his comments erased most of that momentum."

The North Star, Polaris, is inexplicably getting brighter.
They investigated the fluctuations of the star over the course of several years, combing through historical records and utilizing the Hubble Space Telescope.
The team found that Polaris is 2.5 times brighter today than in Ptolemy's time, which they say is a remarkable rate of change.
'If they are real, these changes are 100 times larger than predicted by current theories of stellar evolution,' says Villanova astronomer Edward Guinan.
The team's data also hint that the star's cyclic 4-day variation in brightness, although still weak, is once again growing more robust -- but no one knows what's driving these flutterings or how long they will last.
