And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Over at Lloyd Kahn's blog, he recommends this restaurant in San Francisco, Outerlands, which sounds like a really good spot to grab some chow when down in the City.
My favorite feature is how they bake 60 loaves of bread a day, some of which they send to a local coffee spot nearby. Classic San Francisco, including the atmospheric fog.
The salmon below looks mighty tasty.

"Do you remember that thing about how the banks wouldn't lend to blacks and Hispanics because they were racists? And do you remember how they passed the Community Reinvestment Act so that banks were forced to reduce down payments practically to zero and lend to a lot of people they knew were bad credit risks? And do you remember how Wall Street bundled all these risky subprime mortgages and sold them to investors around the world so that when it became clear that those people weren't going to be able to pay their mortgages banks everywhere were left holding the bag and all five of the Wall Street investment houses either went under or had to be bailed out by the federal government?"
Those days are over, right?
This is pure Cloward-Piven, and the people advocating this need to be treated accordingly.
Hat tip, Small Dead Animals.

Democratic pollster Pat Caddell warns of a "pre revolutionary" anger level.
Gee, ya think?
He also expresses the opinion that even an improvement in the economy won't significantly help the Democrats, as the anger is mainly of a different kind.
I certainly hope that is the case, as it would restore my faith in the electorate, which for the last twenty years or so has voted over and over again for the wrong things and the wrong people, to their immediate detriment. Maybe it is dawning on those that wait to decide on who and what to vote for until the walk into the booth, that perhaps those that make the slickest sales pitches are not their friends. If there has to be a revolution, then let's have it and get it over with.
