And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like someone checked all the options in 1972. The 3 door was a factory special order as well as the 4WD. I'm guessing the idea was the kids could only get out onto the sidewalk and not onto the road where they could get hit by traffic. When Chrysler introduced the minivan in 1984 there was a sliding door on the passenger side only. Al_in_Ottawa
Bought an '86 4WD w/ a rear stand alone heater. 15 Hwy/10 City. Solid front axle, bad ride on a bumpy road. Other than that, loved it. Only set me back $17K or so.
All 68-72 Suburbans were 3 door. My dad ordered a new 72 with 2wd and a 402 big block with the turbo 400 trans. Took family vacations all over the county in it till he bought a new one in 78.

I had a '79 Suburban, had the big engine and was geared for towing, 10 mpg all the time. Comfortable to drive.
