And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
TV and movie caliber. Get a Ruger in 45 Colt. And with a bit more barrel. It will do everything this one will, with a better range of options for use. You can hot-load to 44 mag levels, you can down-load wax or dumb-dumbs to cowboy shooting loads; hence you can easily find your recoil comfort level. You can use modern powders or you can play with black powder. Just more fun, albeit without the 'do you feel lucky' vibe.
I have the .44 Mag, but with a longer barrel. I don't shoot mags too often, but I bought a bunch of ,.44 Special brass and use them a lot on the range. Very pleasant to shoot.
That, in .44 Mag would be a pistol for idiots, and sold after about one cylinder. And/or after removing the front sight from your forehead after one shot for 90% of the population.
Please don't purchase this if it's going to be your first revolver. Recoil and muzzle blast will be severe.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the input. Looks to be a very versatile caliber.
DeleteYep too short of a barrel. Mine was 7 1/4" the weight helped to of set the load even one handed, but you can start with.44 special rounds

DeleteBuilt like a tank, trigger like a brick, and it will outlive your great-grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely concur with Anon 7:49.
Agreed. Get a levergun in 45 Colt to go along. 2 guns, 1 round, both mechanical.
Deletep2. Agree completely. I carry a brace of S&W 357’s with same caliber lever gun.
DeleteA really great round. Hats off to its inventor.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of hats, that would be the esteemed Elmer Keith.
DeleteHell, He Was There!
You can never go wrong with a Bisley handled Blackhawk, regardless of caliber.
ReplyDeleteBuy what you like and want and never ever listen to the “gun experts”. Period.
