Trip to Eagle Lake today. On the way back, some views of our local volcanos.

East side of Lassen

The mighty Shasta from above Hat Creek, looming with menace in the near distance

  1. Haven't been to Eagle Lake in years...I'll have to do it again soon. Beautiful ride, great camping.

  3. question, is this position the photos are taken, far enough away to survive a Mount St Helens eruption?
asking cause never got an opportunity to see that landscape and its geology first hand.

    1. Shasta, probably yes. There's an escape route directly east (Hwy 44). Lassen, no. Lassen last erupted seriously in 1915, not long ago.
