  5. I found out why the pyramid has a flat top. The original was removed in the 1800s to establish a observation platform for the military.

I'm guessing that after they took off the white limestone sheathing and the pyramidion, over the centuries people would climb to the top and trundle a block off, to have some fun watching it crash down one of the faces. The faces look a little concave, especially near the top, where the trundling block smashed into others and broke them.
