Palm Springs and Oldsmobile, together again.

  1. It’s easy to forget how massively large and heavy big Detroit cars were in the 50s and 60s. Big Buicks, Caddies, Lincolns, Mercs, and Chryslers were built like tanks and heavy enough to have their own gravitational field. Of course, this is all geezer talk, but I love the look of these behemoths.

    1. Oldsmobile had the 455 Rocket, the 454 was Chevrolet's big block. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQZV6q00sUc
Looks like a '58 Olds, the car in Kathy Mattea's video is a '59 but the 455 was first sold in '68.

  4. a 1958 Buick had 85 feet of chrome trim when laid end to end. this would be a contender in a chrome off competition
