  1. 1964 ARCA 250 race at Daytona - Bay Darnell spun and ended up in Lake Lloyd

  2. Lake Lloyd was made from the excavations done during the building of the speedway. Bill France had it stocked with bass and they have fishing contests there now and then. There was boat racing in it way back, but a local Daytona Beach doctor got ejected from one of the boats and died form his injuries, that was it for racing in Lake Lloyd. I was a Daytona USA tour driver while I was going to Embry-Riddle Aero Univ right over on the other side of the speedway. Loved coming into DAB's 7L runway immediately just south of the speedway's property...
