And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Lake Lloyd was made from the excavations done during the building of the speedway. Bill France had it stocked with bass and they have fishing contests there now and then. There was boat racing in it way back, but a local Daytona Beach doctor got ejected from one of the boats and died form his injuries, that was it for racing in Lake Lloyd. I was a Daytona USA tour driver while I was going to Embry-Riddle Aero Univ right over on the other side of the speedway. Loved coming into DAB's 7L runway immediately just south of the speedway's property...
