And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That guy was lucky. I know a guy who was killed when a 3 1/2' ponderosa flattened the FOPS (canopy) on a D7 down onto his lap. He had been told not to go in there and did it anyway, just so he could skid the big logs. It cost him his life.
My cousin was taking down some trees and left his new pickup too close. Big old cottonwood laid the top of the cab nearly to the seat. The only good that came out of that was never again having to hear him tell about how good he was at felling trees.
