And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? "Cold, dreary and desolate?" Not exactly. Research 'Medieval Warm Period' and 'Milankovich cycles'. It was a lot more hospitable for the Vikings then. It all came for naught later with the 'Little Ice Age'. Had that not happened, Columbus and his follow-ons might have met big white guys with axes, speaking an earlier Scandinavian dialect. Alan E.
