  1. I wonder what that berm is for. It's a little guesthouse, and the berm is on the south and east side.

    1. I'd venture to guess that is for a wind break. Trees are a premium, from the looks of the terrain.

    2. Maybe so. So close to the ocean, and in Iceland, I was wondering maybe if there's an ice defense aspect for the winter, as along the Great Lakes, where the wind whipping from the north drives the floe ice onshore, up and past the beach areas. The house is pretty close to the shoreline, and there's little elevational change.
