And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Catherine Destivelle. French climber. Climbed at a very high standard in the 80’s and 90’s, both roped and unroped. I just googled her, and apparently she is still alive! Good for you Catherine.
Have a friend who did El Cap back in the mid-80s. Back when I had a mountain house near his in NC, he told me an old climbing bud of his was staying with him and come over, we're grilling burgers.
His friend was Mark Wilford, who had just soloed the North Face of The Eiger in one day. I was stunned.
Lynn Hill in the 80s??
ReplyDeleteI don't see a line...Just amazing!
ReplyDeleteLynn's hair is lighter. I think that is a rest position. She is climbing the crack on the left
