And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
did exact same thing yesterday, spaced it, didn't throw a scotch under a tire, no crash and burn, got in time hit the brakes, hanging half out, grabbed the wheel and shoved a leg in, other arm holding meself up by the open door.
Based on a Reddit thread some time back one gets the impression Americans don't use the hand/park/emergency brake. Apparently leaving a car in park//ger is sufficient.
On flat ground, it usually is sufficient. I'm a mechanic's son, so I was always told to use the emergency brake to save wear and stress on the pawl (if automatic) and because you can't always trust compression (on manual) to hold you.
wheel chocks are so cheap and easy to implement.
