Cactus Damage. Good thing there's this picture to send to the insurance company.

  1. Not uncommon down here. A few fatalities - they are heavy. One killed a (glider?) pilot who went off the runway north of Phoenix and the cactus dropped an arm on the cockpit.

  2. The driver was probably glad it was an older model car and not one of the thin steel/carbon fiber cars of today.

    1. Older cars is all they had back then. For some reason.

  3. Looks to me like a '56 Chevy.

    2. That's a 56 Chevy. 210 trim (mid level). Bel Air had the two chrome waist lines to nose and one zigged back all the way to the tail, 210 had the single chrome line to the tail, and the base 150 had the chrome line that ended at the C pillar. 56 was the best of the tri-fives as it had the "hooter" taillights. My first car was a 56 two door post in 210 trim. Ruined it by hotrod ding, but kids do stupid stuff...

  4. First car I bought (had a 48 Chevy convertible hot rod my dad left me that I drove in high school) was a 56 2 door post belaire with the power pack 265. Was 1966
and I paid 250 dollars off a local used car lot. The car was undented and beautiful
with two tone black and white paint. When I got it home I found a very nice outboard
motor stored in the trunk! Being young and honest I called the guy and told him. He came and picked up the motor and didn't only not tip me but, didn't even say thank you! My
first lesson dealing with used car dealers that I took to heart!
