  1. Having worked in a national chain for woodworking tools, for the past four years....I have come to the conclusion that the motor driving the cutting/sanding thingy isn't important. It's the saw blade and the sandpaper itself. the cheap stuff you get at Lowes or Home depot will last for only about 20 minutes. And may give you swirl marks.
    Spending the money on Cubitron or the 3M Extract is money well spent. You can get 40 to 50 minutes of sanding from those discs without the swirls.
    Now if you are cheap like me; then I use Lowes cheapo stuff, 60, 80, 100 grit for the rough stuff. Then I switch to the better quality stuff at 120 and above.
