And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In the 60’s my folks indulged me with airplane model kits, most of which could be had for less than a buck, maybe 69 cents. My favorites were the Delta Dagger and Delta Dart.
I built a lot of those 69 cent kits. The real expensive kits might go for a buck and a quarter. Go price those kits now. Twenty bucks for the cheapest.
It was vaporware and advertising b.s. of the Nth degree. Convair only built 5 of them, which horribly under-performed, and the Navy took one look, and pretty much laughed them out of the room. The one that disintegrated in flight in front of an audience sealed the deal. Two of the five prototypes have a total of 0 seconds in flight.
They should have named it the Lawn Dart, not the Sea Dart.
If ever there was a plane whose blueprints should have been leaked to Russia, this one is it.
Here’s one on static display in front of the San Diego Aerospace Museum: https://c8.alamy.com/comp/BCYR33/aerospace-museum-balboa-park-san-diego-california-sd-BCYR33.jpg

Even with intakes on top of the fuselage, it still ingested a lot of water spray.
