  2. I remember looking at a superbird in Baxter, Tennessee in the mid ‘70s. It was for sale at $1600. I passed. Not one of my better decisions.
    But then again, I am still alive.

There were kids in our high school whose parents gave them road runners for graduation presents, other factory hot rods too, but the orange and purple winged monsters really stand out in my memory, they looked fast simply sitting up parked, those pointing wedge noses and rear wing, just nothing like it, even the GT40's and hideously powerful big block 442's, even split window vette's, did not have that look of raw speed. Its really too bad NASCAR outlawed the whole wing thing, can you imagine what would have cropped up to compete with them?
