There are blank panthers in West Virginia. I got to see a half black half brindle colored mountain lion in my front yard, looked like a she cat, almost got our little wire haired terrier, her head was all black, like in the photo, big black stripe down her back and black boots. They are a lot larger than I expected, to save our dog I started running full tilt towards the lion, it was enough to stop her and make her take off. Beautiful animal, everything about them true far as could see. It was pretty scary tell you what though, made me shake from all the adrenalin. Seen their tracks around our creek and in the snow, right up behind our house even. We taken to carrying a pistol from then on when out and around.
