And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Like to see what that system is like, been running Hughesnet since 2001, not too awful bad, its super reliable, barring one or two heavy storms a year. SpaceX's i imagine isn't weather effected, they only have to beam down a short distance thru clouds and precip, verses Hughes long slant to one of their geo sats.
I work highway and air field construction in Alaska, pretty much everyone I know of or see has switched to them. Really common to see them on the cabs of semis. Several coworkers and I have them for our work trucks (pick-ups), holds signal just fine from Cordova to Dead Horse. It's also faster then the DSL I have at home.
One of my son's uses Starlink exclusively. He and his girlfriend still work from home most days. They are also both heavy into team gaming and report no latency that affects game speed.
I had Hughesnet and had frequent problems with it. The customer service was bad because of the rudeness of their personnel. I switched to Starlink and love it. I removed the Hughesnet dish and adapeted the mounting bracket for Starlink and routed the cable along the old route.
Tremendous improvement over Hughesnet. In northwoods Wisconsin this rules. Installed at my Mom & Dad's place. Impressively easy to install. Northwoods Freeman
We got the beta version when it first became available in our area. I was out of town when it arrived and my wife, who barely knows which end of the screwdriver to pick up, put the dish on the ground in the back yard, plugged in the cables to the magic boxes and BOOM! Over 100 MBPS immediately. Considering we weren't even getting 5% of that from those azz-wholes at AT&T, and Elon's dish has only gotten faster over time and has been very reliable, we're very pleased.
Meanwhile, a buddy went with Hughesnet and has had nothing but trouble. There's a shocker.
Noticed they been dropping the hardware package prices. Was near $500 when beta came out.

Live out in the woods, only 14 people per square mile up this away. Starlink is very reliable! I definitely recommend it.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been on the internet through Starlink on airplanes, ships and several islands in the South Pacific. It’s impressively fast.
