And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
AFTER THE MOVIE "A RIVER RUN'S THROUGH IT," THE STREAMS OF WESTERN MONTANA ( ROCK CREEK, AND THE BLACKFOOT) AND IDAHO (ST. JOE AND KELLY CREEK)WERE OVER RUN BY FLY FISHING PEOPLE. LITERALLY TRAMPLED PATHS ALONG THE EDGES OF THE STREAMS. IN 2000, I COUNTED 82 PEOPLE ON KELLY CREEK, FROM THE LANDING TO THE RANGER STATION CAMPGROUND. THEY BACKED UP THE BOAT LANCHES WITH 20 RAFTS WAITING TO GET ON THE BEAVERHEAD.. BEEN THE SAME EVER SINCE..

ReplyDeleteRead John McLean's "A River Runs Through It". Redford's flick was great, the book even better. Also reading "Young Men and Fire' will sear your heart.
