And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had not heard of this duo prior to attending my freshman year at (then) Colorado State College, Greeley, Colorado, in the fall of 1965. One of my new buddies in McCowen dormitory played their records over and over again. I learned to really enjoy their music.
Saw Bill Medley at the Agua Calliente casino. Superb. He’s got an engaging, self-deprecating sense of humour on stage. Another one of the greats retires.
Did they have 48 hits? I remember only a couple of them.....
