  1. Marine Squadron 214 was Pappy Boyington's "Black Sheep" Squadron, also flying Corsairs!

    1. Read his book yet? I had no idea he flew with the flying tigers before his stint with the 214.

    2. During the pilot episode of the highly fictionalized TV show "Black Sheep Squadron" they showed Pappy belonging to the Flying Tigers before he left to rejoin the US Marines. As entertaining as it was, that was probably one of the few things that were true in the show. There is an over the air channel called H&I TV that has two episodes on every Saturday evening.   3. There was a Corsair hangered at the airport I learned how to fly. The guy that owned it would fly in airshows. He commented that if you gave it too much throttle quickly it would barrel roll due to the torque of the engine.
