  2. 350 grs? The 500 solids I load are a lot longer

  3. There used to be a company that made M1 Garand's in that caliber.

  4. There was a wildcat cartridge used a shortened .458, was near half length, case, fellow silhouette shooter at our club, way back early 80's, had a custom TC Contender barrel made in it, shot real well, had a serious wack on the 100 yard steel. Alway thought it was a good idea, that beefy case, probably work up some hefty loads with it.

  5. I got to shoot a Winchester M70 in 458 once. The recoil wasn't horribly bad but I wouldn't want to make a habit of it.

    1. I want one, but it's gonna be reduced loads & big dumb cast bullets.

  7. I'm not all that certain that I'd be happy shooting these particular reloads;
    the cases appear to have been flame-annealed.

  8. If you hit Thumper with one, there would not be a hare left!

  9. I have a Ruger #1 in that chambering, just in case an elephant escapes the local zoo.

  11. I think they allow straight wall center fire cartridges in IL now for deer hunting. If you hit one there will not be anything left between the B____i.

    P.S. _amb_ for those who are slow on the uptake.
