And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Moscow, Winter 1971. The word on the building is "Stalin." Friendly people, those Mucovites.
The US has been copying the Russkies and applying the vice grip a long time now. Everywhere I go I see the same results. Most of the majority enjoys being held on a tight leash. Most desire a leader, or being held on a lead like a dog.
I was in Berlin for the Winter of 1970-71, which was the worst in recorded history….45 continuous days and nights below freezing and the snow that fell around Thanksgiving was still on the ground buried under compacted snow come 1st week of April.
The cold fronts backed into the area from Siberia…

ReplyDeleteActually, when I was stationed in Berlin in the 70’s, I found the Russian soldiers to be quite friendly. The East Germans, not so much.
