And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Monitoring a police radio. Two cops (Air Force security forces) talking about a car that's on fire. Younger cop: Do we have to take cover in case it blows up? Older cop: No, that's pretty much just in the movies.
Dad had a tow truck for junk cars. He said they tried multiple methods to get cars to blow up, (50's/60's) figuring it would be easier and quicker to get them prepped for scrapping (the yards wanted nothing but metal) Didn't work, never got any sort of explosion using gasoline or diesel. (method had to be cheap)
