And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

This is a situation where that 1911 on your hip is a good thing to have.
45acp is fat and slow. Great for human tissue. But I would be concerned about adequate penetration. For this target I would probably opt for something with more zip. 357 magnum or 10mm using a very hard cast round to improve penetration. And that's if I didn't have access to a long gun of at least 30 caliber.
Armor isn't all that thick. 45 ACP, hard cast, would punch through it. Remember armor went out when gunpowder came in, and those "firearms" were pretty weak, even if their bore was large.
I have more faith in my Glock model 21, .45 acp. I am of the school that you show
ReplyDeleteyour 1911 to your friends, you show your Glock to your enemies!
.357 for the penetration and the win!
ReplyDeleteJust need King Arthur.
