  4. I remember when these were produced and sold fifteen years ago. They weren't cheap, but they were reasonable. Hornady started making ammunition at the same time, with a picture of Teddy on the box with his Model 1895 'Big Medicine' rifle and his trophy rhino, I think it was.

    I would imagine most people that bought them put them away as investments and to take them out of the safe occasionally to admire them. Most of them had some pretty gorgeous wood. The rifle had an internal box magazine, not a tubular one, which allowed for a groovy Schnable forend.

    The Winchester 1895 was a slick rifle.
