The moon as seen from orbit, early 70's. That must have been one colossal meteor strike to make that big crater.

  1. What I find interesting is it was primarily a straight on hit in what looked to be a maria. That crater is very round and very even-sided and I don't see a central peak.

  4. every single crater is a perfect circle implying only absolutely direct hits. or maybe the moon is not what we are told.

    1. Have you ever seen large raindrops impacting the sand from windy rain? They are all perfect circles. "Oblique strikes make round craters"

  7. Remarkable that the quality of photography of the moon has declined significantly since the early 70's. Another technology NASA has mysteriously misplaced....
